Sintered Stone
Sintered Stone is a new material at the cutting edge of furniture and kitchen developments. The process involves fusing stone, porcelains and glass, to create a truly remarkable material, with huge versatility of designs and astonishing features of practicality and durability, being heatproof, stainproof, it's incredibly difficult to scratch or damage. It's also non-porous so doesn't need to be sealed like other stones.
Ceramics
Ceramics being used in furniture have seen a huge rise in popularity, and we use very high quality ceramic tops with beautiful finishes in our collections. Many people are drawn to this material’s resistance to stains, scratches and heat, along with it’s easy to care for nature. It looks stunning too: our Carrara finishes offer a great alternative to marble, with a very authentic look, while being inexpensive in comparison.
Wood
Several of our ranges use wood finishes which bring texture, colour and mood to furniture. Matt and satin finishes can allow the unique grain to be felt, and polished finishes ooze sophistication and elegance. Glass
Glass is a great material for creating elegant furniture, is extremely strong and easy to care for. Clear glass, in particular, helps to enhance a feeling of space not only because of its transparency, but also because of the way light reflects off it and bends through it. This effect can be further maximised when combining with polished metal bases, with the way we see through the glass and the metal acts as a mirror. There are a variety of coloured glasses and smoked finishes available which create sophistication and depth to furniture. At Centrepiece, we use particularly thick glass which has a pleasing presence and sense of quality. This also makes it very difficult to break or chip, and all our glass is tempered for safety reasons.
Metal
Metal has of course, been used for centuries in the manufacture of furniture, and nothing else can offer the same strength and durability. So many finishes can be achieved, and so many shapes conceived, without compromising structural integrity. Brushed brass finishes can bring warmth and refinement, black and charcoal finishes have an inherent contemporary style with an industrial tone, and polished finishes help to create an open feel, sense of luxury, with finishes such as stainless steel being easy to complement so many interior environments.
